Edanos is an AI-powered food analyzer that helps you track your meals, nutrients, and daily health progress. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
When you create an account, we store your email address and any display name you choose. You may also use the app anonymously without providing any personal identifiers, and link an account later.
To personalize your experience and calculate nutritional targets, we store information you provide such as your gender, age, weight, fitness goals, and preferred units of measurement.
When you log a meal, we store the food name, ingredients, nutritional breakdown, and the date and time of the entry. Meal photos you take are stored securely in the cloud, associated with your account.
If you use the voice-description feature, your recording is processed to extract meal information and then discarded — it is not permanently stored.
We store your frequently logged foods, meal reminder preferences, and app settings to improve your experience across sessions.
If you choose to connect Apple Health or Google Health Connect, we may read data such as burned calories, workouts, and body metrics. This data is used only within the app to improve your daily evaluations. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
We do not use your data for advertising. Analytics are disabled.
The core of Edanos relies on Google's Gemini AI. When you scan a meal or search for an ingredient, the relevant image or text is sent to Google's Gemini service for analysis. This is necessary for the app to function. Google's data handling practices apply to this processing. Ingredient searches may also use Google Search to improve accuracy.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase, which provides secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Your data is only accessible to your own account. We use platform-level security verification to ensure only the genuine Edanos app can interact with our backend.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or marketing companies.
Your data is shared only with the services required to operate the app — that includes storage, authentication, and AI access — as well as Apple Health / Google Health Connect, only if you explicitly enable the sync.
If you use the export feature, meal data is shared only via your own device's sharing mechanism (e.g. saving a CSV to your files or sending it yourself).
Edanos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you within the app. Continued use of Edanos after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about your data or this policy, please contact us through the app or at the email address provided on our website.
